Brazen robbers use taxis and fake identities to attack victims

Two robberies were reported on Monday night in the Ouzai and Shiah area. Marwan Mohammad Arabi took a cab from Cola to Khaldeh area. In the white Honda taxi two young men were sitting next to the driver.

A few minutes before the car reached Ouzai, the taxi driver decided to drive through a narrow alleyway and the two young men pulled out knives, and stole Arabi’s wallet and cell phone.

Arabi revealed that his wallet contained $1150 in addition to his identity card and bank cards, adding that he managed to describe the robbers to concerned authorities who started their investigations.

Also on Monday night, two armed men who pretended to be from security forces arrested two Syrian citizens, Mohammad Abdel Rahman Hassan and Mohammad Walid Ismail in Shiah.

The robbers managed to escape without leaving any evidence that may reveal their identity or whereabouts.
