Rai renews condemnation of violence in Syria
Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai renewed on Tuesday his condemnation of the violence in Syria, whether sparked by the [Syrian] regime, the people, or the armed groups.

"Where is the democracy they are talking about in Iraq today, especially amid the emigration of Christians," he wondered.

Turning to Lebanon, Rai said that Bkerke, the Maronite patriarchate seat, is with everyone and does not side with a party against another.

Speaking on Hezbollah weapons, Rai said that he is worried by the fact that arms remain outside the defense strategy, calling on the international community to find a solution to this issue.
