Nicolas Nahhas: no escape from trying detainees over rotten food case
Economy Minister Nicholas Nahhas confirmed on Thursday that there is no escape from trying the detainees over the rotten food issue.

“Discussions are currently focusing on means to tighten punishment on these people by increasing the prison sentence and penalties as well as eliminating all possibilities of mitigation”, he added.

Nahhas added that several measures were taken during the meeting held in the Grand Serail on Wednesday in order to close this file and reassure the citizens.

“The meeting agreed on boosting human capacity at ministries concerned with food safety as well as conducting a comprehensive survey for all food warehouses,” said Nahhas.
