Lebanese and French forces invade Maameltein-Jounieh bay in joint exercise
French Air Force troops accompanied by French Naval units and several members of the Lebanese Armed Forces as well as elite French “Group Jeanne d’Arc” launched joint military exercises in the Maameltein-Jounieh area on Sunday.

The military exercises draw the scenario of a terrorist group established along the shoreline. Creating a stunning display, the French aircraft carrier Dixmud and several helicopters participated in the exercise that used live ammunition and explosives.

The commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces General Jean Ahwaji, French Joint Chief of Staff Admiral Edward Geo as well as a several Lebanese and French Generals, diplomatic and political figures attended the military exercises.

General Ahwaji praised the efforts of the Lebanese Armed Forces in keeping order and stability in Lebanon amid the growing violence in the region, adding that these exercises strengthened cooperation between both armies.
