A Hezbollah delegation headed by the party's politburo chief Sayyed Ibrahim Amin al-Sayyed visited on Tuesday Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai in Bkerke.
Following the meeting, al-Sayyed said the he had discussed with Patriarch Rai the presidential elections as well as the presidential initiative proposed by former Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
He noted that the patriarch is keen on dealing with the initiative in a way that safeguards the country.
This as the delegation reiterated its commitment to MP Michel Aoun's candidacy for the presidency and to its general partnership policy.
Commenting on US sanctions imposed on banks dealing with Hezbollah, al-Sayyed explained that the party does not have funds in Lebanese banks or anywhere in the world.
