The mayor of the Akroum town Mohammad Daher called upon the concerned authorities and apparatuses to work on opening the roads of Akroum town and its surrounding villages that were isolated due to the storm, where the snow reached a thickness of around one meter.
The mayor added that the residents are unable to leave their homes amid a power outage and shortage in food and medical supplies, especially at the Syrian refugee camps.
Daher also urged the Lebanese army and security forces to interfere in order to rescue the citizens; raising concerns over possible humanitarian disaster should the situation remain unchanged.
