Hezbollah leader stressed that the “blood of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr will haunt Saudi Arabia in life and afterlife,” adding that today will be a condemnation day for the kingdom.
“This crime reveals Saudi Arabia’s real image before the world, which is the Takfiri terrorist image,” he stated.
In a speech he delivered during a memorial service held to mourn Sheikh Mohammad Khatoun, Nasrallah said Al-Saud is solely responsible for the killing of Shikeh al-Nimr, calling from refraining from turning his execution into Sunni-Shiite strife.
“They murdered Sheikh al-Nimr because he courageously spoke the truth,” he added, calling on the Islamic Nation to assume its responsibility and become the Sheikh’s voice.
“Is it not time to tell the world that the origin of the Takfiri ideology that kills and destroys people around the world is the regime of Al-Saud? Is it not time to tell the world that terrorist groups are being funded by the same regime? Is it not time that to expel a regime that violates the rights from human rights organization?” he asked.
The execution on Saturday of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, a vocal critic of the Saudi government, drew Shi'ite anger across the region, with protesters in regional rival Iran storming the Saudi Embassy and leaders condemning the move.
Nimr was executed alongside 46 other people, including 43 Sunni jihadists, some of them al Qaeda leaders and ideologues.
