US special operations forces killed or wounded in Afghanistan -NBC
An unknown number of U.S. special operations troops were killed or wounded in two separate incidents in southern Afghanistan, NBC reported on Tuesday, citing unidentified U.S. officials.

The special operations troops came under heavy mortar and small-arms fire in Afghanistan, NBC said.

A U.S. military spokesman told Reuters an American helicopter landed safely in Marjah in Helmand Province and experienced mechanical malfunctions.

Army Colonel Michael Lawhorn, spokesman for the Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan, said he could not yet comment on whether there were any troops killed or wounded.
