Souaid’s comments were made during a phone call with LBCI’s Nharkom Said whereby he stressed that there is a serious attempt to break the country’s current deadlock, which can only happen through electing a new president.
The country has been without a head of state since the term of former President Michel Sleiman ended in May 2014, with rival political blocs still divided over a new leader.
