REPORT: Cabinet convenes amid boycott of FPM, Hezbollah
A cabinet session was held Thursday at the Grand Serail under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tammam Salam in a bid to resolve the country’s pressing crises.

During the session, which was held among the boycott of Hezbollah and Free Patriotic Movement ministers, PM Salam stressed that the waste management dossier is on the right track and the exportation plan will be carried out after a short period of time.

On another note, Salam said that he will be calling for further cabinet meetings to be held in the near future in order to reactivate the governmental work.

Salam also reiterated the need to elect a new head of state as soon as possible.

Following the session, Information Minister Ramzi Jreij emphasized that the cabinet had approved several items that were included on the agenda of today’s session, pointing out that the ministers did not discuss the file related to the military and security appointments.

“Efforts are being exerted to urge all the ministers to attend the upcoming sessions,” Jreij added.
