A chain of political reactions poured in as Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea backed the nomination of MP Michel Aoun for the Lebanese presidency.
MP Mohammad Kabbara said that “the presidency is a Lebanese matter and every Lebanese citizen should be concerned.”
“Has Maarab become a necessary passage towards the presidency?” he asked.
For his part, former Minister Wiam Wahhab noted that “Geagea acted bravely in backing Aoun,” pointing out that the era of Christian division has ended.
In turn, MP Walid Jumblatt said that the Progressive Socialist Patry’s command council and the “Democratic Gathering” bloc will hold a meeting soon to take the necessary position over the latest development.
