Juppe hopes UNSC statement leads to ceasefire

French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe voiced hope that the presidential statement adopted on Wednesday by the U.N. Security Council will lead to a ceasefire in Syria.

Juppe told Europe-1 radio station that the Russian stance is easing since the statement was adopted by unanimity.

“The statement will provide U.N. and Arab League envoy Kofi Annan with a chance for ceasefire”, Juppe said.
