Syrian opposition adjourns meeting without decision on talks - Al Arabiya TV

Syria's opposition adjourned a meeting in Riyadh on Wednesday without deciding whether or not to attend peace talks set for Friday, Al Arabiya al-Hadath news channel reported.

The channel quoted a spokesman for the High Negotiations Committee, Salim al-Muslat, as saying the body would meet again at 10:00 a.m. in Riyadh on Thursday. The opposition in the meantime awaited a response from U.N. Syria envoy Staffan de Mistura on its demands, it said.

The HNC has repeatedly said the Syrian government and its allies must halt bombardments and lift blockades of besieged areas - steps laid down in a U.N. Security Council resolution on Dec. 18 - before it will join any talks.
