Rescuers recover body of Indian worker trapped in Tabarja collapse

The Civil Defense rescue team managed to recover the body of Omar Sing who disappeared under the rubble of the first Tabarja collapse, the General Directorate of Civil Defense announced on Monday.

The directorate added that it has already made clear that the earlier rescue operations for the Indian national were suspended given that the use of heavy equipment could have prompted the collapse of the adjacent building, impairing rescue efforts and putting rescuers in danger. A week after the initial collapse, the second building finally succumbed to the damage it had sustained, but no injuries were reported thanks to preventative measures taken by officials.
