Geagea: Lebanese government must hold Hezbollah accountable

Head of Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea said Saturday that “a Lebanese party has been continuously offending Saudi Arabia for non-Lebanese agendas.”

“The Lebanese government should have legally interfered to stop this attack against Saudi Arabia," he stated.

Geagea explained in a press conference, that no single Lebanese party can solely act towards foreign affairs, pointing out that the Lebanese government was the only one to not condemn the late attack against the Saudi embassy in Tehran.

In the same context, LF leader called on the Lebanese government to send Hezbollah a formal request, to stop any offences against Saudi Arabia and hold Hezbollah legally accountable for their offending of an ally country.

“An official Lebanese delegation must visit Saudi Arabia to ask for the resumption of aid”, he noted.

On the municipal elections, Geagea stressed that municipalities are the closest authority to citizens.

“We don’t want municipalities that represent everyone, but are still not effective. If every municipality was to protect its area, we would reach stability," he added.
