“We want accountability” activists demonstrated in Beirut’s Riad al-Solh Square Saturday against Lebanon’s ongoing waste crisis.
“There are healthier environmental alternatives to solving the waste crisis, we say no to landfills without recycling and no to the incineration of waste," they said.
Activists added that if Prime Minister Tammam Salam cannot come up with a healthy environmental plan that saves Lebanon money, then he shall leave.
Following the demonstration in Riad al-Solh, activists staged a protest before Salam's residence where they called for investigations into Chinook’s forged waste documents and demanded defaulters to be held accountable.
