Syrian woman, Nadia Qassab, and her Palestinian husband Youssef Mohammad al-Masri were arrested on Wednesday on charges of neglecting the woman’s 2-year-old son, which led to his death and burial, without seeking healthcare or admitting him to a hospital.
According to the neighbors’ statements, the woman’s husband used to repeatedly abuse the child by beating him.
Following the arrest, a coroner examined the body of the deceased child, revealing that acute intestinal infections led to the immediate death of the toddler.
