PM Salam sends letter to Saudi Arabia, Saudi ambassador says government’s efforts “not enough”

The Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Awad Assiri received Wednesday from Prime Minister Tammam Salam a letter addressed to Saudi King Salman Abdul Azizi.

Assiri refused to disclose the content of the letter, only saying that “Salam expressed his concerns and asked him to carry the letter to the Saudi authorities.”

In an interview with “Agence France Presse,” Assiri said that the efforts of the Lebanese government were not enough and do not retract Lebanon’s position towards the kingdom during international conferences.

The ambassador called on the government to “wisely and bravely” address the mistakes committed by a specific party.
