Minister Faraon says Christians cannot be held responsible for presidential vacuum
Tourism Minister Michel Faraon stressed that “the Christians cannot be held responsible for the ongoing presidential vacuum, even if they play a major role in the election of a new president.”
Speaking from Maarab, Faraon said that the only solution for the deadlock is attending the parliamentary session and elect a president, whose presence would have prevented many of the issues the country is currently facing, whether in terms of the waste crisis or diplomacy.

Commenting on the diplomatic crisis with Saudi Arabia , the minister said that this matter requires major attention, whether viewed as a misunderstanding or a trust issue, stressing that it has begun to affect Lebanon’s identity and role.

“These countries [Gulf countries] are our friends and have stood by Lebanon, and we refuse to harm the friendship, history and shared interests,” he states.
