Head of Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea said in a press release Tuesday that ” Russia’s withdrawal on the fifth anniversary of the Syrian revolution is nothing but to assure the key reason behind its involvement in the first place; which is to postpone the fall of the Syrian regime until a settlement was reached”.
“The Syrian regime would have been long overthrown if it wasn't for Russia's intervention which had most people estimate its illusionary victory, but the only victory is to the Syrian people,” he added.
Geagea valued the sacrifices of the Syrian people, stating that " the world's power combined cannot beat people’s free will to achieving a free and democratic country."
