Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil met in Washington with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde and her team, who expressed their relief over “the monetary stability on Lebanon and the financial measures taken in the country,” stressing the need to pass a budget.
The minister also met with US Department of the Treasury’s Assistant Secretary for International Finance Ramin Toloui and his team, where they discussed “the financial measures and means to disassociate Lebanon’s economy and the Lebanese people from the implementation of a law banning any funding for Hezbollah.”
On another note, Khalil held a meeting with Coordinator for International Energy Affairs Amos Hochstein, where they discussed the demarcation of the maritime border with Israel.
