Minister Harb: Cabinet keen on preventing internet issue from being covered up

The illegal internet file was tackled on Monday during a security meeting held at the Grand Serail, dedicated to follow up on the internet issue, which was detected by the Telecommunications Ministry and has been seriously handled in order to prosecute those involved and control the internet market.

In this context, Telecom Minister Boutros Harb said that a meeting will be held next week under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tammam Salam to follow up on the ongoing investigations, stressing that the cabinet is adamant and determined on pursuing the investigations until all involved are revealed.

On another note, Harb quoted Salam as expressing keenness on resolving the issue of the State Security. “We are trying to prevent this issue from being dragged into a sectarian path,” he stated.
