In a statement to As-Safir Newspaper, MP Walid Jumblatt accused one of the top advisers of Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq of leading an organized campaign against the judicial police headed by General Naji al-Masri.
The advisor is a retired Brig. Gen. of the Internal Security Forces who has a family relationship with a prominent political figure.
Jumblatt’s statement sparked a swift response from the media bureau of the interior minister.
