Frangieh: Most important accomplishment is that next president will be from March 8 camp

Marada leader MP Sleiman Frangieh said on Sunday that he did not change his political stances.

Frangieh added that the most important accomplishment made is that “the next president will be from the March 8 camp," stressing that the alliance must not lose that whether it was him or Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun elected.

Frangieh’s comments were made via a Skype to the Marada party partisans in Australia whereby he noted that dialogue between various political parties serves the interests of the whole country.

Lebanon has been plunged into a presidential vacuum since the mandate of President Michel Sleiman ended without the election of a successor.

Deep disputes between rival parties have thwarted the elections with Hezbollah and Free Patriotic Party boycotting the parliamentary sessions tasked to elect a new head of state.
