Moqbel: Jal El Dib Bridge will not be put on the sidelines
Deputy Prime Minister Samir Moqbel said on Thursday that the cabinet issued a decision according to which a bridge in Jal El Dib must be built.

Following his meeting with General Michel Aoun in Rabieh, Moqbel stressed that the matter will not be put on the sidelines, adding that the process of building a new bridge should be given enough time to simmer.

“Prior to execution the process needs to be studied and updated”, Moqbel said.

In February 2012, Jal El Dib Bridge was closed for good and cars were banned from crossing it. The concerned authorities dismantled the bridge and opened two lanes form the Beirut highway to the left of the bridge to vehicles coming from Beirut in addition to the one lane at the right of the bridge.
