Minister Harb says Batroun will never be “a farm sheltering corrupt people”

Telecommunications Minister Boutros Harb said Thursday that the municipal elections proved that the Lebanese people are attached to their constitutional rights and reject the obstruction of the presidential elections.

During a press conference, Harb pointed out that “the survival of the republic and the system must not depend on one person and whether that person is elected president,” expressing his objection to new proposals suggesting holding the parliamentary elections before the presidential ones.

Commenting on the municipal polls, the minister stated that “the attempts to impose sectarian monopolization and to oppress the Lebanese people’s decisions practiced by some political parties do not go in line with the national and democratic principles.”

“The district of Batroun will never be a farm sheltering corrupt people and Tannourine will never be divided,” he said.
