Geagea: Investigations into assassination attempt reached advanced stage

The Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said on Wednesday that investigations into the assassination attempt have reached an advanced stage, refusing to divulge any details that might harm the course of investigation.

During the March 14 forces meeting held to express solidarity with him, Geagea placed the assassination attempt in context of the broader regional confrontation. He said that had it been successful, it would have had dangerous repercussions on Lebanese Christians.

The meeting saw the participation of 200 attendees ranging from political figures to representatives of civil society associations. The meeting opened with a speech delivered by March 14 General Secretariat Coordinator Fares Soueid who welcomed the participants and thanked them for voicing solidarity.
