Unknown armed men open fire at house of ex-mayor in Akkar

The state-run National News Agency reported on Saturday that unknown armed men opened fire at the house of a former mayor in the northern district of Akkar.

The agency added that the attack on the house of Bzal former head of municipality Sheikh Hatem Othman caused only material damage.

Security Forces arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the incident.

The Union of Municipalities of Qaytea-Akkar condemned the attack, urging security forces to arrest the shooters and to safeguard the stability of the town.
