Head of Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea said in response to Hezbollah’s latest attack against the Central Bank Governor Riyad Salameh that, “the Lebanese banking system is closely linked to the International Monetary System; therefore Salameh has no other choice but to implement the international law”.
Geagea explained that “the central bank took all possible measures to avoid any random implementations of the American sanctions”.
“The only party interested in rolling back the dangers facing the Lebanese economy is not the Central Bank Governor nor the powerless Lebanese government, but Hezbollah by changing its foreign and local policies to suit the Lebanese people’s interests,” he added.
“Are the Lebanese people required to keep paying for Hezbollah’s unilateral policies, those of which they never even agreed to? LF Leader asked.
Geagea stated that "Hezbollah should take blame for the American sanctions, instead of accusing Salameh."
