The Lebanese Red Cross denied Thursday reports that emerged on social media platforms and news websites, stating that an explosives-laden Red Cross ambulance has been patrolling across Beirut’s southern suburbs.
In this context, the committee issued a statement whereby it “asked all media outlets to abstain from mentioning the name of the Red Cross in such inaccurate reports, which may negatively affect the public interest and hinder humanitarian and relief works provided by the association across the Lebanese regions.”
The statement added that the reports that included the association’s name and photos of its vehicles or crew members, have directly harmed its image and reputation; which will forces the administration to refer the case to the judiciary in order to pursue the necessary legal measures.
