Rai hopes the Arab Spring meets the people’s aspirations

Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai voiced hope on Sunday that the Arab Spring meets the aspirations of the people; “a spring of democracy, respect for human freedom and consolidation of public freedoms.”

During his Sunday sermon, Rai also hoped that mercy prevails over all communities.

The patriarch also called sinners to repentance and to be wary of evil plots against the church.
