Men and women, young and old, all gathered on Monday night in Tripoli to launch lanterns into the sky, in an event organized by a group of Tripoli’s youth for the fourth consecutive year, to celebrate the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
The event, which aims at showing the real image of Tripoli, also collects donations to educate children who have dropped out of school and find difficulties in enrolling all over again.
The donations will be granted to “AlSindibad library,” which is the first if its kind in Lebanon, and which aims at creating an educational space to reach disadvantaged children and youth and teach them basic education.
