Bakeries call off strike following agreement with Nahhas
The Syndicate of Bakery Owners called off their strike scheduled for Thursday after coming to an agreement with Economy Minister Nicolas Nahhas to subsidize by 70,000 LBP per ton of flour.

The deal means that bakeries will pay 440,000 LBP instead of 510,000 LBP per ton. Head of the syndicate Ibrahim said that the decision will be implemented with a retroactive effect as of May 1st 2012, urging Nahhas to live up to his promise.
