Disputes have not yet ended over the estate number 399 in the Jbeil town of Lassa, as the surveyors were once again prevented by the town’s residents from carrying out works for the Maronite Patriarchate.
Sheikh Mohammad al-Itawi explained the reasons behind their objection to the said works two times in three days, reasons rejected by the Maronite Patriarchate, which in turn confirms the ownership of the estate using official certificate.
The Patriarchate says it rejects turning this dispute into a sectarian one, stressing the need to leave the matter in the hands of the judiciary.
