Hen lays eggless chick in Sri Lanka

It was reported a few days ago that a hen in Sri Lanka gave birth to a chick without an egg.

Instead of emerging out of the hen's body and undergoing external incubation, the egg was incubated in the hen for 21 days and hatched inside her body.

The chick is fully healthy while the mother has died.

A study conducted on the hen's body suggested that it died of internal wounds.
