LBCI: Lebanese Forces statement completely unfounded, lacks credibility

In response to the statement issued by the Lebanese Forces media office, the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation International (LBCI) clarified that the lawsuit filed by the Lebanese Forces has not yet formally been filed and it was not against LBCI, but against its CEO.          

LBCI stressed that it would like to make it clear to the Lebanese public opinion and refresh the memory of the Lebanese Forces media office on the content of the 3rd page of the Lebanese Forces’ lawsuit filed before the Investigation Judge in Beirut that stated verbatim, the following: “defendants: LBC and LBCI”.         

LBCI said that, based on the available data, the statement issued by the Lebanese Forces media office is completely unfounded since it lacks credibility and accuracy. LBCI stressed that the remaining items in the LF statement also lack credibility and accuracy, adding that LBCI will not stoop to the level reached by the statement, thus will not reply to it.         

The Lebanese Forces media office had responded to a statement issued by LBCI on April 20, 2012. The statement stated as follows “the decision to liquidate PAC is an attempt to weaken LBCI and push it to close or give up”. The Lebanese Forces stressed that it did not file its lawsuit that “is not against the LBCI, rather against its CEO who “abused trust and continues to do so”.         
The LF statement added “the lawsuit has been on file with the Lebanese Judiciary since 2007 while the dispute between Daher and PAC is very recent”.          

According to the LF media office statement, the Lebanese Forces had officially and repeatedly called on Sheikh Pierre Daher not to sell his belongings to Prince Walid Bin Talal; the party also addressed the same warning to Prince Bin Talal who neglected them and was adamant on buying what Daher offered, shares Daher does not originally own.           

The statement added that “Daher's disregard for people’s interests and livelihoods, made him manipulate truths and dates just as he manipulated other people’s figures and funds, only to place the blame on the Lebanese Forces in order to evade his most basic responsibilities– as usual – towards his employees, God and the people.”           

The Lebanese Forces concluded its statement by saying that it reserves the right to take legal action to the fullest extent of the law regarding every statement and action made by Sheikh Pierre Daher.
