General Directorate of Internal Security Forces announced Saturday that it had thwarted an attempt to smuggle about one million and fifty thousand tramadol pills into Lebanon via Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport.
As a result of monitoring and follow-up measures adopted by the ISF, the latter managed to lure two of the involved in the operation to an area in central Beirut, where it arrested them.
The suspects were identified as Lebanese M.A. and Lebanese W.H., who had in his possession a pistol.
The detainees were referred to the competent judiciary and investigations are underway to arrest more suspects involved in the operation.
