Minister Abou Faour: No one has an intention to turn their back to the government

Health Minister Wael Abou Faour declared that Prime Minister Tammam Salam or any other party have no intention to turn their backs to the government, noting however that there is also no intention to surrender before complete obstruction, “since the cabinet remains the only working and effective authority.”

“The Lebanese citizens need the cabinet to keep functioning to facilitate their daily affairs especially amid the difficult economic situation caused by security and political complications,” he stated.

Following his meeting with PM Salam at the Grand Serail, Abou Faour hoped that the conditions will viable to hold consultations and contacts between political parties after the prime minister returns from abroad, hoping also that the cabinet will restore quorum and hold regular sessions.

Answering a question concerning the position of the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif towards Saudi Arabia, Minister Abou Faour said that “launching such accusations against Saudi Arabia is unjust,” pointing out that “the kingdom has always supported moderation in Lebanon and never distinguished between the Lebanese people.”
