Minister of Environment Mohammad al-Machnouq stated Wednesday that “attacking the Minister of Environment over the garbage crisis proves a lack of awareness because the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities is responsible for this matter.”
During a conference held by FransaBank chaired by former Minister Adnan al-Qassar, al-Mashnouq added that “it is not enough for the civil society and environmental organizations to issue statements, however they should coordinate with municipalities in sorting and recycling garbage.”
