Iran's Foreign Ministry: Araghchi reaffirms Tehran’s steadfast support for the Lebanese people amid Israeli attacks

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received a phone call from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during which they discussed developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as the course of negotiations in Islamabad, in addition to issues of mutual interest.

Both sides stressed the need for the international community to act to stop Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon, which they said have resulted in thousands of people killed and wounded, widespread destruction of residential areas and infrastructure, and the displacement of residents.

They also agreed to continue consultations and coordination.

During the call, the Iranian foreign minister reviewed the latest developments in the diplomatic track mediated by Pakistan, praised the resilience of the Lebanese people in the face of attacks, and reaffirmed his country’s full support for Lebanon.

He also stressed that halting Israeli attacks on Lebanon is part of the ceasefire understanding between Iran and the United States and will remain a key element in any future process.

For his part, Berri pointed to what he described as repeated Israeli violations of the ceasefire, stressing the importance of increasing international pressure and holding Israel accountable for its actions.
