Jordanian PM resigns in unexpected move
A Jordanian official says the country's prime minister has resigned.

The official says King Abdullah II accepted the resignation on Thursday but has not yet named a replacement for Prime Minister Awn al-Khasawneh.

The official says there was no immediate explanation for the unexpected resignation. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release the information to the media.

Al-Khasawneh took office on Oct. 17, pledging to speed up reforms needed to hold parliamentary elections and give more political say to Jordanians.
