REPORT: Beirut's southern suburb of Dahiyeh prepares for Ashoura

Beirut's southern suburb of Dahiyeh started its preparations for the Ashoura day amid tight security measures.

For Shiites, Ashoura is a day to remember the suffering and martyrdom in the Western calendar's year 680 of Imam Hussein, grandson of the prophet Muhammad.

Men weep and march in processions beating themselves bloody with chains and knives.

This report will shed light of the ongoing preparations to mark Ashoura ceremonies.
