Will Beirut’s wholesale vegetable market come to life again?
Head of the municipality of Beirut Bilal Hamad announced on Sunday that establishing a central fruit and vegetable market in Beirut would restore to the residents some of the lost “Beirutian” privacy and would curb the erratic circulation of ambulant traders.      

During an expanded meeting organized by the Syndicate of Fruits and Vegetables Traders, Hamad outlined the outcomes of contacts and meetings between the syndicate and officials with regards to the implementation of the market project.      

In turn, MP Mohammad Qabbani confirmed that the project is vital and would serve the interests of the residents.
