Mansour: Lebanon’s policy towards Syria proved most suitable
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a radio interview Tuesday that the country's position of self-disassociation from events in Syria proved suitable in light of current international changes seeking a political resolution for the crisis. He added that many breakthroughs have been made in the investigation into the case of disappeared Imam Moussa Sadr.

Lebanon was one of the few countries which decided to pursue a policy of non-interference in the popular uprising in Syria demanding ousting of President Bashar Assad. Also on the foreign affairs agenda was the vanishing of Imam Moussa Sadr in 1987 while on a visit to Libya.

Mansour retaliated to all criticism against his ministry's stances from the Syrian crisis, asserting that "it was the correct decision for Lebanon's own national interest," specifically now that a political solution was sought after.

Turning to the case of the vanished Imam, Mansour revealed that the outcome of secret investigations will be made public once they are concluded.
