Rai calls Hariri, wishes him success in his mission

Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai phone called on Saturday Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri and congratulated him on his nomination to form a new government.

The phone call also reportedly featured high over the latest local developments whereby Patriarch Rai wished Hariri success in forming a harmonious government “as soon as possible in order to address the country’s major challenges.”

Earlier in the day, Hariri ended consultations with parliamentary blocs over the formation of a new government for the second and last day.

Hariri is expected to head to the Baabda Palace to meet with Aoun to discuss the government formation.
