Residents of Hrar urge Lebanese army to extinguish fire
Residents of a north Lebanon town of Hrar urged on Sunday the Lebanese army to help extinguish a huge fire that erupted one day earlier and continued overnight.
The fire continued to destroy large parts of land on the outskirts of the Hrar town, despite efforts deployed by local residents and firefighters to extinguish the flames.
The fire had extended into nearby regions and fire trucks did not manage to douse the blaze due to the narrow roads.
The residents of Hrar urged the Lebanese army to use its helicopters to immediately extinguish the fire.
They also accused the firewood traders of being behind the fire, calling on security forces to open an investigation into the incident.
