REPORT: FPM tours leaders in a push to draft a new vote law
Kataeb party leader Sami Gemayel stressed on Tuesday the importance of all parliamentary blocs to show seriousness concerning the drafting of a new electoral law.

Gemayel’s comments were made following a meeting with a delegation the Change and Reform bloc.

“We expressed all readiness to cooperate with the Free Patriotic Movement and very side that works for drafting a new vote law,” Gemayel said following the meeting.

For his part, Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan said that excuses are no longer accepted for not reaching a new vote law.

“The FPM is open to any electoral law that fixes the Christian representation inside the Parliament,” he added.

He concluded by stressing the importance of making reforms, adding that the return to the 1960 law is refused.

Then, the delegation headed to the Bayt al-Wasat and met with PM-designate Hariri in the presence of his adviser Ghattas Khoury.
