Priest kidnapped in Baalbek after baptizing Muslim girl

Unidentified persons in a black and silver “Grand Cherokee” intercepted the car (Toyota) of the pastor of Baalbek’s Church of Our Lady of Aid, Father Walid Gharios known as “Elias Maroun Gharios” on Monday afternoon at al-Ansar junction in Baalbek. Kidnappers then fled to an unknown destination.

Security forces are chasing the abductors to discover the reasons behind this act.

According to preliminary information, Father Gharios was kidnapped because he baptized a Muslim girl who left her parents’ house.
