President Michel Aoun signed on Saturday decree number 23 issued on January 07, 2017, pertaining to inviting the Parliament to convene in extraordinary sessions that started on the 9th of January until the 20th of March.
The second item of the decree determined the issues to be discussed during these sessions:
- Draft electoral laws for parliamentary elections
- Draft budgets referred or to be referred to the parliament.
- All draft laws referred or to be referred the parliament.
