President Michel Aoun arrived Monday evening in Riyadh in an official visit to Saudi Arabia, upon the invitation of King Salman Bin Abdel Aziz Al Saud.
An official delegation accompanied the president that includes ministers of foreign affairs, education, finance, defense, interior and municipalities, presidential affairs, media and economy.
On Wednesday, President Aoun will be heading to Qatar also upon an official invitation from Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.
Before leaving to Saudi Arabia, the president headed a meeting with the accompanying delegation where they tackled the visits’ agendas and the issues to be discussed.
Separately, Aoun received the Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Quintaro Sonora who stressed that his country will continue its assistance to the Lebanese government in all the fields, adding that a grant of USD 17.9 million to held the Lebanese provide the necessary assistance to the Syrian refugees.
The president also met with the a French parliamentary delegation, where he stressed that Lebanon maintains its borders with Syria, while the security forces work on preventing the terrorists from infiltrating into the Lebanese territories. "The preemptive measures taken by the security apparatuses have been preventing terrorists from achieving their goals," he added.
